Publishing
Publish and unpublish dashboards.
Publishing makes a dashboard live at a stable URL on view.flitch.io. Reversible.
Publish
Open the dashboard
From app.flitch.io (draft and published).
Note that the Dashboards page only contains published dashboards.
Open the publish dropdown
Click Publish in the dashboard topbar, or open Settings → Publishing.
Pick visibility
- Public: anyone with the link can view.
- Team Only: all team members can view (requires sign in). Team workspaces only.
- Email Restricted: only the email addresses you specify can access.
Confirm
URL generated and copied to your clipboard. Test in a private window.
Republish
Edits are draft until you republish. Open the publish dropdown again. The same URL keeps working.
Unpublish
Publish → Unpublish. The link returns 404 immediately. Republishing later restores access at the same URL.
Export
Once published, download the dashboard as PDF, PNG, or PowerPoint. From Settings → Publishing.
Options:
- Orientation: landscape or portrait.
- Nav: include or hide the dashboard's navigation.
- Badge: include or hide the "Built with Flitch" pill.
Click any chart or table in the published dashboard to export it on its own. Republish after editing so changes appear in exports.
Ask AI for viewers
Turn on Ask AI in the access settings and viewers get a chat launcher on the published dashboard. They can ask questions about what they are looking at and about the data behind it, read only.
Two conditions:
- Viewers must sign in, so the visibility has to be Team Only or Email Restricted. It is not offered on public dashboards.
- Credits come from the team that owns the dashboard, not the viewer. The toggle is disabled, and the launcher hidden, when that team's balance is empty. See Billing & Usage.
Scheduled reports
Send the export on a schedule instead of downloading it. From the Export card, open Scheduled report, add recipients, and pick Hourly, Daily, Weekly, or Monthly, a start time, and a timezone. Orientation, nav, and badge follow the same options as a manual export.
Each run captures the published version, so edits you haven't republished won't appear in the email. Paid plans only.
Embed
From the Export card, open Embed to copy an iframe snippet for another site. The snippet points at the published URL, or at your custom domain when one is active.
Free embeds carry the "Built with Flitch" badge. On paid plans, hide it under Branding and republish.
Custom domain
Serve a published dashboard from your own hostname, for example dashboards.yourcompany.com, instead of view.flitch.io.
Add the domain
In the publish popover, click Add custom domain and enter the hostname. Paid plans only.
Add the DNS records
Expand DNS records and add the CNAME and TXT records shown to your DNS provider.
Wait for verification
Verification and the TLS certificate complete on their own, usually in 5 to 30 minutes once the records are correct, occasionally up to an hour. The status reads Pending DNS until then, and needs no refreshing.
