Create a dashboard
Generate a dashboard from a single prompt.
One prompt produces a complete dashboard: layout, charts, theme, and the data connections.
Steps
Open Create
In the sidebar, click Create Create.
Pick datasets
Click Data and select the datasets you want to include. You can mix datasets from multiple connections in the same dashboard, and Flitch auto-detects relationships between them. See Datasets. With no datasets selected, Flitch generates a sample dataset for you.
Click Upload to attach files. Text and PDFs are scraped into a dataset or used as context. Images are used as visual reference (target layout, brand assets, design notes).
Click Settings to set brand kit, pages, navigation layout, and theme.
Write a prompt
A topic plus a few constraints works well. The more general the prompt, the more Flitch decides for you (layout, grouping, chart types). The more specific, the tighter the control over the output.

Generation runs through five stages:
- Identity: dashboard name and icon.
- Planning: structure and page outline.
- Foundation: icon image, theme, data, and base files generated in parallel.
- Pages: page generation in parallel.
- Validation: final checks.
Usually 1 to 3 minutes end to end.
After generation
The dashboard opens in the editor. From the top bar:
- Rename: click the dashboard name to edit it.
- Desktop / mobile: toggle / to switch viewports.
- Refresh: reloads the preview.
- Settings: open the Settings tab for general info, data sources, AI context, code, and publishing. See Settings.
- Update: describe changes in the chat sidebar. See Update.
- Edit: change values, charts, and styles directly with the inspector. See Inspector.
- Publish when ready. See Publishing.
Generation is the highest cost AI step. Updates and inline edits cost much less. See Billing.
