Update a dashboard
Refine an existing dashboard with prompts or direct edits.
The chat sidebar has two modes:
Flitch makes the change directly. Use this when you know what you want changed.
Examples:
- "Add a chart on page two showing average deal size by owner."
- "Switch the theme to match our brand: primary blue, accent orange."
- "Replace the bar chart with a horizontal one and sort by value descending."
- "Move the KPI cards to the top of page one."
- "Filter all charts to last 90 days."
Edits are scoped: Flitch updates only the relevant pages and chart configs. The preview reloads automatically.
Read only. Flitch answers questions about the data or the dashboard without modifying it.
Examples:
- "What's the highest value deal in the pipeline?"
- "Which page shows revenue by product?"
- "Why is the chart on page three empty?"
Switch modes from the dropdown at the top of the chat sidebar.
Attach more
Click the button in the chat input to attach context or browse history:
- Upload file: text and PDFs are converted into a dataset or used as context. Images are used as visual reference (target layout, brand assets, design notes).
- Data: attach additional datasets to include in the edit. See Datasets.
- Versions: browse and restore previous versions of this dashboard. See Versions.
Inline edits
For small changes you don't need the chat:
- Click any chart or value to open the Inspector.
- The inspector has Data and Design tabs for value editing, formulas, conditional rules, layout, theme, and chart type.
Versions
Each update creates a new version. The current version is what the editor and the published URL show.
Browse history via the chat sidebar's menu, then Versions. Pick one to preview, then click Restore to make it current. No URL change. Restoring doesn't delete newer versions. They stay in history.
Versions snapshot the dashboard's structure, not its data. The data shown is the current state of the connected source.
Drafts and publishing
Edits are draft until you republish. Open the publish dropdown to make them live. See Publishing.
